Avid was sick. He'd been sick for years, his wound baffling every doctor, apothecary, and priest he'd gone to. It shouldn't be a surprise he'd turned to other methods to keep it at bay. Alchemy had been his saving grace, buying him time to keep looking for a cure. Never mind the whispers that claimed magic or the villages he'd had to flee if anyone ever caught wind of his workshop. It wasn't witchcraft, it was science. Probably.
Oakhurst had been his last lead. The land was steeped in legend, vampires and the like coloring its stories. Elle had always spearheaded the monster hunting, working in the field to rid the world of monsters and search for anything vaguely like Avid's own symptoms. A cure was what he needed, and his partner had died for it. He wouldn't let that sacrifice be in vain. Maybe, just maybe, he could kill the vampires that did this to her too.
Or, Avid's a witch and people are just a little more superstitious. This changes some things.

Summary
After transmigrating into a fantasy webnovel with the best world-building but worst plot he had ever seen, Kim Dokja removed himself from the story as much as possible to open an apothecary as far away as the System would allow. He has no need to be a part of a trashy romance where the soon-to-be-King spends his time killing monsters, sleeping with enough women to make other harem love interests' jaws drop, or killing anyone who rejects him or looks at him funny. At least the A/B/O thing is a minor plotline..
So when the heroically injured protagonist turns up on his doorstep a little while before the main plot begins, Kim Dokja slams the door in Crown Prince Yoo Joonghyuk's face. (He resolves to do this every time the male lead comes back. Unfortunately, between him and the door, the door's breaking first.)

Summary
This starts with Ursa and Iroh escaping the palace with Zuko and Azula as kids, they flee to Ba Sing Sei to get away from Ozai and chaos ensues. We follow Zuko through all of this, starting with the night they escape. It'll follow the storyline of the show, just with things changing because Zuko isn't trying to kill them this time.
