This follows the dialogue and events of Rebecca Yarros’s Fourth Wing, retold from Xaden’s perspective. It's my best guess at exploring how Xaden might have felt throughout the story and features new scenes with Liam, Garrick, Imogen, Sgaeyl and Tairn. Major plot spoilers from the very first chapter.

The man looked like a demon fresh from hell, the only sign of humanity found in the pale skin showing through his body paint and the flash of white teeth where his mask cut off.
“The event coordinator sent you to find me?” Vessel asked, his voice made for wicked melodies. No wonder the man had followers ready to worship. With a voice like that, he’d captivate any audience.
