"When's that gonna happen?" Ash's voice was brittle when he finally spoke. "When exactly did you learn to live with it, Blanca?"
He couldn't explain that he'd moved through the world like a ghost, seeing and feeling nothing until he'd met Ash. He didn't want to explain that it was Ash who saved him, when he'd been unable to return the favor in any way that mattered.

Zhong Hanliang feels his own brows knit minutely. It is well-known, even outside of the cultivation world, that Hanguang-Jun and Sandu Sengshou has never seen eye to eye. He finds it curious, and perhaps another piece to the puzzle of what Wei Wuxian is to Hanguang-Jun that the animosity extends towards the younger man, who by all accounts seems to be a new addition to the generally stagnant, almost incestuous game board of the Cultivation world.
