    Bruce hadn't wanted another son, not after Jason, not after experiencing that hurt.
    He hadn't wanted another Robin either, but Tim Drake had something to say about that, which is fine, it can be purely a work relationship...

    But this time the Drakes have something to say about that.

    Or:
    Bruce is grieving Jason, having another son wasn't even a thought but one unfortunate night Bruce learns that Tim is being neglected.
    Bruce takes the boy in, the purely work relationship turned into father/son. Not only does Bruce start to heal, he feels guilty about it.

    Or more simply: Bruce is grieving and is guilty about moving on, Tim learns that his parents never had his best interest at heart, Dick is trying his best, and Alfred is doing his best...oh and four and a half years later they learn that Jason is still alive.
    What can possibly go wrong? (Everything)

    Oh and did you know Bruce that you have a biological son?
