Kaigaku makes a deal, to turn back into a human even if it's considerably weaker than his own, he would work under them to infiltrate the Demon Slayer Corps for the benefit of the Demon King
Upon returning into a human body, Kaigaku rebels, faced with the horror of his incapability to sustain himself as a demon, he had a different goal in mind.To fix everything.
(Same settings as Everyone's a Demon Slayer au, might be a little confusing, but Kokushibo was not the one who turned Kaigaku into a demon, and Michikatsu is the moon Hashira.)

Summary
To describe the relationship Zenitsu had with his senior, he only had to use one word; dead. They were two different people somehow destined to despise each other. With no way to reunite or bond with one another. For his fellow Thunder breathing user refused to form any meaningful connection between them.
So when his 'brother's' personality had suddenly turned on itself. Zenitsu thinks that his senior had been replaced by a demon. No, he's sure of it.

As the two get settled in the spotlight, kneeling down and fixing their postures, Uzui begins to speak, "Kaigaku and Zenitsu, " he points a painted finger to each as he names them, nothing but fondness in his tone that has Tanjirou’s gears turning, "Arrogant and Goodness.” a play on the kanji in their names, and, they fit if he was honest. Kaigaku’s posture was filled with the confidence of a mouthy Crow, while Zenitsu looked like a timid little sparrow, seconds away from flying away.
