“And why didn’t you think to tell me that you were struck by a bloody unforgivable curse before you fell lifelessly onto the fucking floor!” Sebastian yelled.
She winced at the loudness of his voice.
“Do you have any idea what it’s like to watch the love of your life almost die in your fucking arms?” His deafening voice echoed through the chambers of the hospital wing.
She stared at him, mouth agape.
Sorry, what was that he just said? Was she dreaming? Was she hallucinating? Had Sebastian Sallow really said that he loved her? Her? Complicated, chaotic, haphazard her? Even if her brain couldn’t quite process what she was saying, her heart had certainly understood. It was battering against her ribcage so firmly that she swore it would no sooner burst out of her chest.

When she first resigned to the pitiful fact that she was very likely in love with Sebastian Sallow, she had accepted her fate. Doomed to suffer in an unrequited love she held for her best friend. Too bad it took almost dying to realise that maybe the feelings were mutual.

Summary
The heat is overwhelming once back in the car, but Kevin bears it only for the shivering form in the backseat. He keeps an eye on him, glancing into the rearview as often as he can while maintaining safety as he drives, but Peralta never notices. Raymond's coat is almost comically large on him—the sleeves hanging over his palms and the shoulders too wide for the young man's smaller frame. It would be reminiscent of a little boy playing dress up in his dad's clothing if it weren't for the fact that Peralta is not only an adult, but one that they had found near frozen on a bench in the middle of the night. His head is down, wet hair dripping rivulets onto his face, and his arms are wrapped tightly around his body like a lonely hug.
It's such a pitiful sight that Kevin feels something inside of him crack. Raymond's hand, still a little cold from being outside, slips into his and squeezes.
“You know,” Peralta's voice cuts through the silence of the car, “my dad showed up again.”Or
Jake's dad returns and causes an upheaval in his life that no one is sure he can come back from.
