Heat cycles were one of those things that Deadlock would prefer he just not have to deal with, but with a healthy frame and energon to spare, his code has decided for him that now is a perfect time. A few Autobots put a drug in Sideswipe’s Energon as revenge for his latest round of pranks. It was only meant to get him loopy so they could laugh at whatever antics he got up to (and maybe get some blackmail for later). It was just meant to be some harmless fun.
It doesn't end up that way, but by then it's too late for anyone to realize they've made a huge mistake.
