When Hermione entered, the eight year common room was considerably more busy than usual. Instead of keeping to their usual groups, old houselines still clear as day, everyone was gathered around one of the big tables. They had even pushed the couch and cozy armchairs out of the way. Curiousity piqued, she made her way through the crowd.
Reaching the table she was surprised to see a giant muggle painting of a hippogriff, she recognized Buckbeak at first glance. There was a vague smell of pumpkin surrounding it, and she spent the rest of her day wondering who would paint their old friend such a lovely tribute.
