Padfoot had been planning to spend his rut season in the Shrieking Shack so he didn't bother the people staying at Grimmauld, but he comes across his comatose godson and decides that a warm body is better than an abandoned shack.

Summary
During Harry's third year, Sirius had sent him a Firebolt. What nobody but Harry noticed was an additional smaller gift with an awesome looking collar in it. The firebolt hadn't been cursed but the collar had been cursed to make Harry obey the command spelled into it.
Sirius hadn't intended to abuse the collar. He just wanted Harry to grab Peter then hand him over. However Harry kept wearing the collar even after he was a free man, and he just can't help himself.
