Summary
Life does not wait for grief. When faced with a tragedy—with loss—so huge you have no idea how you can live through it, time seems to stop. And yet somehow, the world keeps turning, the seconds keep ticking, and grief continues to persist.
Or
Lo’ak already lost his brother. It should be enough of a consequence to lose his brother due to his own recklessness, yet somehow Lo’ak keeps losing more. Each loss cuts deeper than the last and life won’t stop long enough for him to stitch up the wounds.
A look at death, grief, and the inevitability of the world to keep turning. (i.e the ikrans dying with no mention ruined me and I have thoughts and question about what happened to Neteyam's Iran and had to channel my feelings somehow)

Constellations by popsunner
This is really good, great damian and tim dynamic, handles grief really well, I don't even kno how to articulate how I felt reading this. I cried though, its really really good, I love it, will definitely be thinking about the ways the characters act and how they deal with grief, its helpful -

Competent, awkward, and has really nice hair.
That was the usual way people described Tim Drake. It sounds funny, but Tim actually has great hair. No, no, no- Listen. He has really great hair.
Of course, his family can't help but joke (even if they agree)

While walking home from an event at Wayne Enterprises, Tim and Damian are kidnapped and sent to an alternate dimension. In a world where superheroes are merely comic book characters and the idea of the multiverse is only a theory found within the pages of science fiction, how are Tim and Damian going to return home? How long will they be stranded on this strange Earth? And will the boys murder each other before they figure it out?

summary:
tim and damian get transported into a universe with no superheros and powers, tim is 16, dami is 10. they can't rlly do anything cept wait to be rescued mostly. tim takes up responsibility for dami, makes new identities for them, and ages himself up to 18 so he can take him under his care. the fic goes through them learning to live with the grief of not seeing their family for a long time, creating and adjusting to a new life without any vigilantism. dami gets to be a kid, tim learns to take care of him, and himself. its a really good fic, read it.thoughts on the whole fic --spoilersss---:
genuinely one of the best pieces of fiction I have ever read, its changed me irrevocably. I love it so much, will constantly re-read. UGH I wish there was a reaction fic so the batfam could see to the extent that Tim went to give Damian a much better life. this is my life blood, the FEELINGS, the CARE and LOVE. its too much. I need more Tim and Damian relationships like this. Wish the entire story continued with just them mostly, the oc girlfriend to wife wasn't my fav and I was really hoping for tim and dami to go back together because the entire fic was exploring their relation with each other and I prefer to keep the characters as they are but atleast it didnt end with them not being able to see eachother , i would have been utterly devasted, I WAS utterly devasted when I read that chapter ---even if i hate that tim didnt return with dami and was willing to give him up :((((( like i get that he got a daughter but that was basically ur SON too, u RAISED HIMfor author: ok but regardless of my thoughts on some aspects of it (pls dont take any criticism to heart, its just my preferences), this fic so completely well done and i love it sm, like author, pls plspls never ever delete it I love it so much, i need this tim and dami, they will forever be in my heart, i will come back to this fic over and over again to reread this absolute masterpiece. its one of my fav fics of ALL TIME

Bookmarker's Notes
read book 5
batfam is all dead except for tim, peter is dicks son (died like mcu, robbery), tim took peter in and they are going through life together, learning to live with grief --live in 2 story house, tim is 21, peter is 7 (and has blue eyes) --peter is a meta, with his spider powers, peter got into photography from timI just found this series and I absolutely love it, the way it's written and handles grief and responsibility so well is just incredible. I rarely cry when reading but so far, in this series, even though the works aren't super long, it hit me really hard in the feels and I found myself crying and feeling the emotions of the characters. It's genuinely just so so well written, I'm in awe.
(I'm too scared to write a public comment (never done it before) but I know that people can see public bookmarks, so author, if this finds you, just know you are absolutely amazing and I love your mind and the way that you write and handle the situations in the story)
cant wait to read more from this amazing series!!!!!!!! ----but patiently, take your time author and take care of yourself too, and once again I just adore your way with words
