Summary
Tamara Slaine: attorney, wife, Martian. When the Affini come, Tam's world is utterly upended. Her struggle against the State, once all-but-impossible, is over. Now her only concern is assisting the Affini as they help her incarcerated clients adjust to a new reality, and adjusting herself to the new reality of her alien overlords also keeping humans as pets. She finds herself questioning what it means to be Tam, what it means to "own" her wife, and even what it means to be human.
