Summary
Ranpo Edogawa is an enigma.
Poe is comfortable saying this now that he knows every other person on Earth thinks so too. And because he’s getting better at figuring him out, little by little. His rate of progress is abysmal, but at least it exists. He can tell when Ranpo is loud because he wants attention (which is the most common), but also when he’s loud because it distracts other members of the Agency from their own anxieties. He notices when Ranpo’s facade is just a tad more put-on than usual, and then he knows to light a candle or turn on a light, or take one of the heavier blankets from his closet and offer it to the detective. He knows when Ranpo whines because he wants sweets, which is almost always, but can point out the rare occasions that he wants something savory to balance it out.
All useful information to better bring about his downfall, but sometimes, Poe feels no closer to actually solving the mystery that is Ranpo Edogawa at all.

Phoenix is homeless after the events of Trials and Tribulations and takes place between then and Apollo’s Justice. Miles doesn’t find out immediately, but then offers to let Phoenix stay at his place. Phoenix is dense and doesn’t understand any of the implications; Miles is stubborn and refuses to admit he’s madly in love. Gay chaos ensues. ;3 My bf ellieluvsstuff got me into Ace Attorney, we came up with this idea and basically wrote it together.
Update: the main fic is complete. It's 6 chapters not including the epilogue or future bonus chapters.
