Summary
When Kara woke up in the 21st century, she thought she'd see flying cars, robot servants—essentially, everything she saw at the Luthor Expo realized.
Instead, she woke up to strange men in suits, bland bananas, and mythological gods fighting giant robots in New Mexico. And to make matters worse, everyone she knew and cared for was gone. So now Kara was not only alone in a world that moved on without her, she had to survive with the knowledge that the people she left behind mourned her death.
Also, her next-door neighbour might be a spy, and Kara may just be a little in love with her.
Golly, the future was weird, but at least the coffee was good. Yay?

Summary
“Krypto,” Lena says groggily. “Krypto, go.” She gulps, but her mouth is dry. Lena tries to strengthen her voice into more of a command, but she isn’t very successful. “Run!”
Krypto is barking incessantly. He’s a good ten feet ahead but doesn’t dare run back to his owner.
Lena can feel the looming presence above her. She doesn’t have to look to know. “Krypto!” she loudly states with more authority than she feels. “Release! Find her! Run!”
A shoe comes into her periphery. That annoying whistle fills her ears. That whistle that Lena spent hundreds of hours deconditioning Krypto from obeying. She keeps her eyes on her beloved pet. She smiles when Krypto looks at her with such emotion, almost like regret. The barks turn into whines as he backs away from the scene. Finally, finally, Krypto runs.

Lena does everything in her power to protect the puppy that she has come to love. What happens when her pup does the same and leads the National City heroine to his selfless owner?

Summary
Lena learns magic the only way she knows how. By working to the point of exhaustion and lying to everyone around her. It's not her fault her mother's spell book hates her. If only Lillian's voice would shut the hell up and let her concentrate.

A look at how I imagine Lena "practices board games" Luthor would handle learning to control chaos. Lots of unhealthy coping skills and bad decisions. Magic has a cost and you can't convince me otherwise.
