  1. Summary

Edwin Payne hasn't had more than the occasional isolated thought of his family for a long time. They are all long dead, after all.

Unfortunately, as Edwin should have known, the dead never stay quiet for long.

    Summary

Nico di Angelo hasn’t set foot in his hometown in four years—not since he packed his bags, buried his feelings, and moved across an ocean to study in Italy. It was supposed to be a fresh start. A chance to connect with his roots, with the mother he never got to know. A quieter life, far away from everything he wasn’t ready to face—including his feelings for his childhood best friend Will Solace.

But now he’s home for the holidays.

And Will’s still golden. Still exasperatingly kind. Still the only person who’s ever truly seen him. And Nico? He’s still terrible at saying how he feels.

It’s Christmas. There’s mistletoe. There are meddling friends and siblings. And maybe—just maybe—there’s still time to say what they should’ve said years ago.

    Summary

Will Solace has had a crush on the tattoo artist across the street for months.

It’s fine. Really. Harmless. He bakes, he pines, he tries not to stare when Nico di Angelo shows up in black hoodies and eyeliner asking for espresso like he doesn’t know exactly what he’s doing.

Then one of Nico’s clients passes out mid-session—and suddenly Nico needs sugar, fast. Will steps in with steady hands, first aid training, and a bakery full of emergency carbs.

It could’ve ended there—but something sweet is beginning to take shape, slow and golden, like sugar dissolving into heat, like something worth waiting for.

    Summary

Will Solace moves into a suspiciously cheap murder house because residency pays in caffeine and trauma, not rent. He just wants to sleep for twelve hours and ignore the fact that Kayla and Austin almost intubated a guy upside down. Instead, he gets ghost roommates who keep moving his stuff, flickering the lights, and eventually start playing dramatic romcom soundtracks over his true crime podcasts.

Desperate, exhausted, and one bad haunting away from losing it entirely, Will turns to Craigslist. That’s how he meets The Ghost King — aka Nico di Angelo, paranormal investigator, skull ring enthusiast, and inexplicably hot goth. Nico fixes the problem. Will accidentally develops a crush. The ghosts, naturally, escalate their matchmaking efforts.

    Summary

It’s the golden age of eyeliner-streaked MySpace fame and post-hardcore breakdowns (2005, obviously), Chthonic Hearts is a rising pop-punk band held together by duct tape, creative tension, and the vague threat of spontaneous combustion. Nico di Angelo writes heartbreak like it’s a war crime. Will Solace sings it like he's not the casualty. They fight, fuck, and tour in a haze of power chords, smudged eyeliner, and metaphors sharp enough to bleed.

The band calls it chemistry. Management calls it marketable. Will calls it exhausting.

With one leg of the tour left, a voice on the verge of collapse, and a setlist full of unsaid things, everything starts to unravel—on stage, in greenrooms, and behind locked bus doors. Somewhere between gas station vodka, bruised lyrics, and one particularly regrettable bar fight, something shifts.

They’re not talking about it. But maybe they don’t need to.
Not when the music’s already doing it for them.
