Haunting and poetic and yet full of hope.
It’s satisfying in the way of feasting on a whole bag of pecans you harvested from the ancient tree by the creek, the one you have to trespass (just a little) to reach, and your hands are raw from cracking the shells open but the meat will never be richer or sweeter than right now.
