Summary
For decades Emmrich Volkarin had been the gold standard of what an alpha should be, composed in the face of instinct, unshakable under pressure. Across all four major universities in Thedas, he was one of only three alphas permitted to hold full tenure. Trusted to lecture in rooms thick with scent, to remain unmoved through every stage of designation flux. He had built a reputation on control.
He had even written the definitive text on the subject. Instinct and Intellect: Navigating Designation with Dignity. It was still used in half of the academic circles from Starkhaven to the Free Marches. So why, at his age, with all his accolades and experience, was this becoming so Maker-forsaken difficult?

Instant. The regret of accepting the contract had been instant.
But Crows don't back out of contracts, and Azzurra “Rook” de Riva was particularly stubborn for a Crow.
Now she stood in front of the pantry door, procrastinating the hell out of the inevitable conversation.
As luck would have it, the door opened right as she finally went to knock…leading to her fist gently smacking Lucanis in the face. When Rook accepts a particularly risqué contract, she did not think about the implications. She should have thought about the implications.
aka. the 'Lucanis and Rook fake dating at an enemy orgy' one-shot absolutely nobody asked for... but my brain cooked up anyway.
Just crows being crows, I guess.Bookmarked by StylishTemper97

Summary
In a freak twist of fate, after killing Ghilan’nain and unleashing a lethal amount of magic, Rook does not find herself in the Prison of Regrets. Instead, the magic creates a pseudo-rift and spits her out the other side.
Stuck in the past, she has several options but only one real conclusion: the Inquisition had done fine the first time. They certainly didn’t need her assistance. The fate of the Veil still hung in the balance, and she had vowed to keep it there by any means necessary. Solas had been helpful up to this point, but she’d known he was plotting—scheming to escape his prison.
He had used blood magic on her. He’d hurt Varric. He’d cheerfully kill her given half a chance. This younger version hasn’t done anything yet… and doesn’t know to be wary of her. Rook wasn’t above using him, and then killing him with his back turned.
What was the Dalish saying? May the Dread Wolf take you? Not if Rook took him first.
