Summary
Theophany Laidir's story began not with the grand entrance of defeating a corrupt noble, but in a quiet midnight meeting with the life she saved. Because beginnings aren't grand, nor are they humble, they just are. And the Golden Spirit Seer had plenty of grandeur to go around, so it only seemed fitting that the riptide would pull her in, because even the waves are affected by the storm.
The beginning of Theophany Laidir's POV of the events of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, in the "Varric's Last Gambit" AU, which features a dynamic duo of Rooks (Nene and Ward, AKA Smiley and Grim) taking on the world and chasing down gods. Hope you like!

Summary
This is the sequel to More of a Rook than a Crow, which in turn is technically a sequel to Dragon Age the Veilguard. This means major spoilers for Veilguard!
Thedas is saved, which means that Isabella can return to the fold as Lucanis begins his new work as well. However, with a strange letter addressed to her at Villa Dellamorte, she is asked to discuss something that Viago was hoping to sweep under the rug.
The King of Antiva has learned that Rook was a Crow, and Rook has been summoned for an audience with the King. Only, Isabella hasn't gone by that name for several months and very few people knew who Rook really was. Is it a trap, or does the King really just want to extend his personal thanks to her for saving the world?
And when cloaked figures appear to pave the path for those from across the sea, it seems that Isabella might need to get the Veilguard back together to find out exactly what is going on.

Summary
In a freak twist of fate, after killing Ghilan’nain and unleashing a lethal amount of magic, Rook does not find herself in the Prison of Regrets. Instead, the magic creates a pseudo-rift and spits her out the other side.
Stuck in the past, she has several options but only one real conclusion: the Inquisition had done fine the first time. They certainly didn’t need her assistance. The fate of the Veil still hung in the balance, and she had vowed to keep it there by any means necessary. Solas had been helpful up to this point, but she’d known he was plotting—scheming to escape his prison.
He had used blood magic on her. He’d hurt Varric. He’d cheerfully kill her given half a chance. This younger version hasn’t done anything yet… and doesn’t know to be wary of her. Rook wasn’t above using him, and then killing him with his back turned.
What was the Dalish saying? May the Dread Wolf take you? Not if Rook took him first.

Summary
Lucanis Dellamorte awakens in darkness, disoriented and shackled, with only fleeting fragments of memory. His mind is clouded, his body aching, and a throbbing pain behind his eyes warns him of blood magic at play. As his senses gradually return, so do the memories of the shipwreck - the storm, the panicked screams, and the ocean pulling him under.
And now, voices swirl around him, shapes coming into focus.
Then she speaks. Her touch is gentle. Her smile is way too sweet to trust. There is no doubt about it. Lucanis is in trouble.

Lucanis reached for her hands but she snatched them out of his reach, hugging them to her chest as though they could keep her heart from breaking.
After the defeat of Elgar'nan and the Dread Wolf, Rook (Saffana Athwyr) returns to Treviso with Lucanis, but it isn't the honeymoon period she’d yearned for. What follows is a story about the search for belonging, growing pains, and whether one can choose their own fate.

Summary
It should be a quick, clean job. Get in, get what he needs, get out, move on. But then, Lucanis should be in Treviso, not riding a crowded Minrathous rail line towards the inner city. On several fronts, things are off plan.
Lucanis works alone (except when he doesn't). Rook isn't supposed to be working at all (except she kinda is). Teaming up would be ridiculous. Crazy. It's not going to happen.
(It's happening.)

Summary
His head fell back against the chair. A young woman like her would never be interested in a lecherous old man like him. And if, miraculously, she was interested, she deserved more from him than this. More than filthy, depraved thoughts from a man nearly old enough to be her father.
She deserved much more. She should be courted, be dressed in gold and fine silks, never to want for anything for the dest of her days. He would be lucky to be on his knees before her, reciting sonnets about her beauty and wit until she blessed him with a smile.
But his traitorous hand fell to his length. Even the barest pass of his palm drew a quiet hiss out of him. He shouldn’t. He couldn’t. Rook deserved better.

Summary
This fic was inspired by the video game Wanderstop.
Evara "Rook" Mercar, a former operative of the elite Shadow Dragons. Has walked away from a life built on blood, precision, and unrelenting usefulness. After a near-fatal mission and being forced into burnout recovery, Rook retreats to the remnants of her childhood—her late parents' tea shop, “The Veil & Vine,” long preserved by her estranged brother Solas.
Now, a few years later, she is Rook Ingellvar who lives quietly in the city's magical district as a tea shop owner. There she meets Professor Emmrich Volkarin, a respected forensic anthropologist with a gift for corpse whispering and an all-time tea lover. He is invited to Minrathous as a guest lecturer.

Summary
Their resistance was starting to come together, she thought. She didn’t need an army or spies, even though it would be nice, what she needed was a network, and the people that had already saved Thedas once before were stepping up to help her save it again.
~
She leaned her head against his chest, listening to the sound of his heart pounding beneath her cheek. She wanted to memorise the feeling, the sound, in case the mission went sideways. She hated herself for what she was about to ask him to do. “Ar isalan na to gara galin tor vis min goes telam.” I need you to get everyone out if this goes wrong.
~
I really wanted to expand on the feeling of regrets and how Solas uses that to manipulate Rook into taking his place. The consequences of Rook's choices will be featured and explored. I intend to recount the game and fill in some gaps, reintroduce lore from the old games and add scenes I thought were missing, like breaks after major missions (HELLO, ROMANCED COMPANION DURING PRISON OF REGRETS). It's as lore-accurate as possible to the old games, but I have taken some liberties. Characters from old games will have bigger roles to play. Rated E for eventual smut.

Summary
Calliope “Rook” de Riva is many things: snarky, chaotic, and a little awkward. In other words, she’s not the best crow, but when stopping Solas’ ritual releases two blighted gods, it didn’t matter if she was a good Crow. Instead, Rook now has to figure out how to stop two dangerous ancient elves, deal with one bald-headed asshole, learn to lead a team, carry her own emotional baggage, and figure out her growing feelings for a certain broody Crow.
