    Summary

“Tenna couldn’t actually see, but he could practically feel their wary, angry gazes piercing him, could hear the way the wood of their weapons creaked under their antsy grip. Pins and needles started to envelop his right leg, yet he endeavored to ignore it, staying as still as possible. He knew the only thing keeping both him and his army from covering the battle-broken earth in dust was two signatures on two pieces of parchment. And even that was shaky to achieve.

Best not to test fractured patience. Again.”

Or, a self-indulgent one shot for a UT/DR AU story I’ve had rolling around in my head for the past couple months

    Summary

Kinger tilts his head a bit. "Is this— I don't remember Caine saying there'd be an adventure today? Where are we?"

More of that tense silence. Kinger isn't sure what's going on.

"Kinger," someone finally speaks up— he recognizes that voice— Gangle! He looks at her, the girl in the corner— she isn't made of ribbons anymore, which feels a little uncanny to see. Her hair is dyed platinum and her skin's a brilliant shade of oak. He wants to compliment her— she looks so nice like this! Alas, he isn't sure if that'll be much appreciated right now. Oh well.

"Kinger," Gangle whispers again, anxious, voice soft and cushioned like she were disguising a blow. "You're not in the circus. We escaped five days ago."

    Or
They escape the circus. Kinger misses his wife.

Slowly, everyone learns to heal together.

    Summary

The troupe has escaped the Circus. Uh, does anyone remember how to be human?

Will likely feature lots of Kinger focus, plenty of angst and hurt/comfort, and heavy focus on platonic relationships.

    Summary

Ordinarily, Kinger preferred being in the dark. Especially being in such an unfamiliar environment, it was easy to get disoriented and confused without it. But at night, when he was trying to sleep, he'd really rather not have his wife on the mind if he could help it.

Turning a light on would be easy, if only he weren't currently sharing his space with five roommates he'd really rather not be a bother to.
