It was only after the war, 16 and almost 17 years of living side by side with him, that Katsuki realized that he had never really touched Izuku, his mind, feelings and desires, preferring to keep him by his side so that he could hear praise about himself every day.
He was disgusting.
When the opportunity to become heroes was taken away from both of them, without hesitation, both left UA without completing 3 years of study, cutting off contact with all classmates. If Izuku knew that he couldn't become a hero, then Katsuki, who had lived his whole life thinking that he would surpass Allmight, felt the same uselessness that Deku probably felt in middle school.
Sometimes, in shopping malls, it seems to him that he sees a painfully familiar head, but decides to ignore it like a pain in the ass.10 years later, when he thought he had forgotten them forever, forgotten him, returning to UA hits him like a tsunami.
