    “I trust you, Vegas. We trust each other.”

    Vegas’ mouth parted slightly. While true, neither of them had ever said it aloud. He didn’t know how to respond.

    Pete crawled into Vegas’ lap, holding his face to kiss him softly. Vegas wrapped his arms around Pete’s back, fingertips grazing the ridges of his spine. Unbidden, Vegas remembered other bodies he’d touched. Bones snapped, skin broken, blood spilt.

    “I want to say no,” Pete murmured into his mouth, as if saying something sweet. His tongue flicked out to catch on the back of Vegas’ teeth. “I want to say no, and I want you to fuck me anyway.”

    Pete asks for something new. Vegas is willing to try.
