“You don’t think I understand?” His voice was soft as if trying not to startle him. “You don’t think I see the way everyone takes and takes and takes from you? And expect you to never complain, never refuse?”
He brushed the golden stands away, smoothing them out. “I am a little wounded, love, that you think I would do the same.”
Sarcean lips suddenly turned up in that mischievous, almost boyish smile that had half the palace enamored. “But you are in luck so I will forgive you. Now and probably a million times again.”

He was feeling pleased with himself until Will wrapped his free hand around James's throat and forced his head back, eliciting a small, surprised noise from him. Will ignored the shocked sounds from the Stewards and leaned down towards James, his grip hard and unyielding.
"You went to Robert Drake to get something. What was it?" His right hand was still hard on the horn.
