Summary
The Margat, the great fortress-temple of the Holy Order of Yorm, stands grey and weary and indomitable on her shard of stone. For Namala, a woman afflicted with the unfortunate ability to see the dead and the hidden forms of demons, the fortress is her last and only hope for safety.
And the Watchers are kinder than they look. As grim and battered as they are, the paladins have reasons for kindness.

Summary
Hector is sent back in time, in what he thinks is a straightforward quest to prevent his home village from being destroyed.
But the person responsible is someone he grew up alongside, and the second time around he has started noticing things about her that flew completely over his head initially. Maybe life in the village wasn't so idyllic for everyone. Maybe there's even more going on here than he realized.

I do not have much to say that the summary has not already said. And, really, what I want to say about the climax of the piece is spoilers. But... Read this.
Frankly, I wish I could put it in a neat little hardbound collection of tales for my metaphorical coffee table.

Bookmarker's Notes
A bit of original sci-fi drawing from that good ol' Star Trek optimism and the 'humans will packbond with anything' memes.
Despite the prison planet in the background, this story is just wonderfully optimistic - and a subtle raised middle finger at ableists.
