Holy fucking shit. Holyyy fuckingggg shitttt.
I can't believe I'm allowed to just. Read this. For nothing! For free!????I have rarely thoroughly liked something like this.
It's got incredible character development and I found it a clever and truly interesting retelling of the original story. The relationship between Chuuya and Dazai is portrayed in such a realistic manner that I sometimes felt I was intruding on something I had no business seeing. What I found particularly nice, was that the story took genuine care to develop the protagonists outside of their relationship with each other. Nothing is sacrificed in favour of pushing them together and their interactions with other characters are integrated so well as to not come off as "an interruption". I absolutely loved loved the dynamics each character had with whichever other, just incredible work.Again, I'm flabbergasted this is just. Here. And I can read it like that.
The progression in some parts was admittedly slower than in others, so it took me a while to get through the whole thing, but I recognize that might just be subjective judgement.
