Nancy stared at her, her expression shifted. Not angry. Not hurt. Focused. Eerily similar to her I'm gonna commit a crime face. “Robin.”
“Nancy?” Robin tilted her head. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
Nancy stepped closer. Close enough that Robin’s back brushed the edge of the desk behind her. Then her hands fell to Robin's hips, keeping her in place,
“Robin Buckley,” Nancy deliberately tipped her head up so their gazes were locked, “I underestimated how catastrophically bad you're at social cues.”
Robin huffed. “Rude, I told you I was.”
“Look at me.”
Robin did. She always did when Nancy asked like that.
“We have been dating,” Nancy said slowly, enunciating every word, “for nearly six months.”

Steve is needling Robin into finally landing herself a girlfriend—both unaware she already has one at home.

Rumi gripped the edges of the stool, her knuckles white. Don't look too deep, she thought fiercely.
"Oh, I see, I see, but that is my job, girl. I see your mother’s fine intellect, a thirst for truth that would lead you straight toward Ravenclaw. But I see more. I see a fierce loyalty, almost... primordial. And I see ambition. The ambition to succeed where others fail.”
A part of her began to feel annoyed, not appreciating that intrusion. The Hat seemed to flinch.
“Alright, alright, I understand. But don't be like that. I know where to put you… Yes… it better be…”

Zoey can’t help but wonder sometimes, in that in-between space, where Mira melts under her affection, under the praise and the compliments and the doting. Where she hesitates. Wonders if Mira ever holds back. If she ever wishes Zoey would just keep going. So she always pushes, further and further and wonders if one day Mira will just… take it.
