Prince James has some choice reading material sometimes, reading fantastical stories of the past. His mother, however, cannot stop him from enjoying such things. There are even some things she cannot foretell... Including if these stories have any root in reality. Is there more than she knows about James' infatuation with such stories?

He hears Clint suck in a breath but it’s almost inaudible over the rapid beat of his heart. He’d been sure Natasha and Clint’s relationship wasn’t abusive; they loved each other, probably as much as Steve loved Bucky. (He’s not so sure Steve loves him as much now as he loved the old Bucky Barnes, to be honest, but that’s a problem for another time.) Natasha wouldn’t ever harm Clint unless there were circumstances where it was okay, if there was some sort of reason for-
