Summary
On the television, the camera pans across Gotham’s skyline, and Jason’s mind goes blank.
The clocktower, Babs’ new base of operations, is a smoking ruin.
Scrambling up, mashing the mute button on the remote, he rushes to the desk in the corner, wrenching open his laptop, fingers shaking as he activates the nuclear option.
Putting the headphone to his ear, relief floods his chest when he hears Barbara’s voice for the first time in three years, then sours when he can process well enough to hear what she’s actually saying.
It’s not Barbara that’s dead.
It’s Robin.

Summary
Dick is staring at him over the top of a beer bottle, brows furrowed, mouth set in a firm line.
“Jason,” he says, all serious, in a way that has Jason’s hackles raising, “don’t take this the wrong way, but…”
Jason sighs, internally. The pause means Dick’s making him play along. Which means it’s not actually anything serious, but he should prepare himself for a truly unbelievable amount of horseshit.
“Take what the wrong way, Dick?”
“Jason, are you a Friday the Thirteenth reference?”

Summary
Mai, in a fit of panic, voluntarily joined Prince Zuko in his exile, before Iroh could consider making the same offer himself. Three years later, she regrets this decision.
“So…” he said, suddenly, stretching for casual and not quite reaching it, “what’s your guys deal? No offence but I wouldn’t have guessed you guys were Fire Nation based on your, you know.” He gestured all-encompassingly, but was kind enough not to point out specifics.
Mai shrugged. “His dad told him to go find the Avatar.”
Sokka blinked. “Okay? Why you two specifically, though? I mean your whole army is-”
“His dad told him to go find the Avatar three years ago.”
Sokka said nothing, but his expression was loud enough. After a long, complicated moment, he shook his head in something like amazement.
“And he found him? I mean, we got there first, but still.”

Summary
In the weeks following the induction of humanity into the greater galactic community, it was quickly discovered that the universal translators rendered the name of humanity’s home planet as something universally offensive, unprintably obscene, and, in the case of every species other than the hanar and a few more flexible elcor, extremely medically inadvisable. After weeks of increasingly heated negotiation with humanity’s diplomatic corps, it was eventually agreed that, among council races, humanity’s home planet would be referred to by the culturally-insensitive but otherwise much more dignified ‘New Earth’.

Summary
“It's just-” you splutter, you're not backing out, you just want to explain- “it's not like it's my field?” Which might not even be true any more, much as they'll never get you to confess it. Spirit Nonsense has definitely technically happened to you, at least once. “All I did was look for a bathroom,” you mutter, apologetically. She just gives you that look, and you cave. You caved hours ago. You caved as soon as you got the letter.
You wish Aang was here. But he's not, and it's all down to you. Things have never gone well when it's all been down to you.
