Summary
Her twin has been divorced and institutionalized. He still has the same perfectly neat side part that makes him look a little bit like a scolded child when he cries. He’s been excommunicated but still wears his cassock. He blames himself for what someone else forced him into.
Sometimes, it baffles her how little John Ward has changed in thirty years. Like time had frozen him, gentle and self-flagellating, where she last let him go. -

Summary
Perhaps he will draw a crowd, small though it may be. Money is money, and small change guarantees at least a coffee in the morning, which is enough fuel for his broken mind to function at its peak capacity - after everything. And if he’s lucky, very lucky, he might have enough for a cheap drink before he sleeps.
Will doesn’t let himself remember what having a good day used to mean. It doesn’t do to dwell on unrealities.
Will Graham is homeless in Florence, making money reading people who pass by. Set post Red Dragon verse.

Summary
With a child killer walking free, nightmares haunting the very little sleep he gets, and no leads or clues presenting themselves, Will is feeling happier than he has in a very long time.
He's made the decision to kill himself.
Unfortunately for him, his attempt is thwarted by a man he's never met before in his life, in a very strange way.Even more unfortunate, the man appears in Jack Crawford's office two weeks later, having been invited to help with the gruesome case, as Jack introduces him as Dr. Hannibal Lecter.

Jesus fucking christ. this was something else. whatever it is about this author's style made me feel more viscerally than I have in months. near the climax, I had to put my phone down and just breathe in for a bit, try to calm down. my heart was actually fucking racing.
