Summary
One small change. One loyal subordinate's suspicions change the tides of fate, and instead of falling to Frostmourne, Sylvanas leads her people in an evacuation of Silvermoon and Greater Quel'thalas. Those who cannot flee on foot, Sylvanas takes in the remains of the Thalassian navy, and they make for the neutral nation of Kul Tiras. Little do they know that Arthas has already been there to slake his rage for a perceived betrayal. Yet, it is not under his control. Someone else holds sway over the ghosts of Kul Tiras.

Summary
Jaina's a PhD student trying not to feel too bitter about being alone for the holidays. Sylvanas is a vampire a little frustrated that the hunter she intended to drain is actually just a rather naive human.
But when Jaina sees the opportunity to have a - companion - around for the Christmas break, she decides to defy all known logic and invite her would be killer to stay for the holiday. In exchange for Sylvanas' somewhat... lacking company, she'll offer up a steady supply of blood and access to her Netflix subscription.

Summary
The nation of Quel'thalas has a problem. The Amani, their long-time rivals, have found a way to breach the ancient border shields and seem to be planning an invasion.
Jaina Proudmoore, the world's newest Archmage, has a solution. She's developed a new magical ward that could keep out invaders indefinitely, without bloodshed. She just needs to take down the shields for a while to implement it.
Ranger-Captain Sylvanas Windrunner is thoroughly opposed to letting a human alter the millennia-old elven defense system, but she trusts her sister Vereesa to at least supervise the mage on the expedition.
So when Vereesa unexpectedly can't attend, it falls on Sylvanas to make sure everything goes right, but is she protecting her country from their rivals, or Jaina from herself?
Or: a happier AU where Ranger-Captain!Sylvanas and Archmage/Academic!Jaina do fieldwork together and bicker about it the whole time
