Atsushi tilted his head. “Um. It lets you do… things?”
Dazai snorted, struggling to keep the serious facade, but he managed to settle down. Atsushi could still see the smirk in his expression, though.
“Okay, sure. Everyone has a certain amount of mana in their body, kind of like aquifers. It replenishes over time, and everyone’s container is a different size. Most people have so little that they can’t do anything with it. Some people however, use it to do ‘things’” Dazai explained. His snicker at the end with air quotes was unwarranted, but it was an explanation nonetheless.
“Alright, but… What does that have to do with me?”
“Atsushi, you,” Dazai twirled his finger at him, “Should be grateful no one has tried to turn you into a mana harvesting farm.”
