Reliable as always, the radio clicked on. He dropped the remote soundlessly back onto his couch, and began to flick through his mail, the beginnings of a soothing familiar tune spreading to make his apartment feel just that much cozier.
The song wound to its end, and Riku heard the tiniest intake of breath.
“Good evening, Daybreak Town,” Sora said, voice as soothing as ever. Riku didn’t realize he’d stopped moving until he caught a flicker of lightning, jolting him. Moments later thunder rumbled, and Sora laughed. “Another rainy night, huh?”

As his friend, this worries Hiyori greatly, especially since they still have to take care of all the corrupted souls wandering around. Even so, Hiyori can't help but be proud watching Yato train Yukine in the ways of the vampire and servant.

Summary
With Father finally defeated, an injured but miraculously alive Hiyori dropped off at the hospital, and the issue of Yato’s precarious existence resolved, all that’s left is to head home for a well-earned night of uninterrupted sleep.
Unfortunately, but not altogether unexpectedly, Yukine’s mental state is still far too fragile for that to be entirely possible. Instead of succumbing to the despair of the moment as he so easily could, Yato is reminded, as he holds his child close: they are destined for a brighter future.

His body seems to weigh ten tonnes as he heaves himself up into a sitting position, groaning weakly. Time moves sluggishly as he blinks around at his surroundings which he’s sure weren’t so… well, blue before.
He squints furiously trying to see further than the ice covering everything within a few feet of him and–
He pauses. Ice?
Rubbing frantically at his eyes, he realises said ice is really covering everything around him and Viridian Forest has transformed into an impromptu winter wonderland.
