Summary
Pinocchio never makes a sound. It’s something everyone has known since he first appeared at the hotel. Until now it seems when you have him pushed on his back in your bed, new silk strands of brown hair messily splayed across your pillow. And, shockingly, a voice you’ve never heard before.
You think that you might have been imagining things, so you rut your hips again, slowly, and once again the quiet of the room is broken by a soft whine as he presses a cold steel hand to your hip.
You definitely weren’t imagining things.

Summary
There were not many rules to this thing and the few that were there, were printed on a small card that he used as a bookmark. Daryl wasn’t sure why, but he liked to read them over before starting with the actual reading.
On the little card, it said:
1. Respect patient confidentiality. Do not disclose or inquire about personal details.
2. Use the approved reading material given to you unless told otherwise.
3. Arrive on time for your scheduled reading sessions
4. Do not touch the patients or interact with the medical equipment. Always follow staff instructions.
5. Sign in and out of each session in the volunteer logbook for record-keeping purposes.or
Daryl meets Rick in a hospital and becomes a little bit obsessed. (But honestly, can you blame him?)

Summary
Dad, Carl can see, is a condemned man, a man burning at the stake, but at the center of him, he is an adoring father still and Carl is right there with him, a son wanting to be adored.
It’s all a mess. An ugly grief-infested mess. They’re both bleeding out. They’re both hurting. No more, Carl thinks, pleads, prays. No more, please. We’ve had enough. We’re full to bursting.
And then Negan comes.

Summary
When Carl dreams, tucked beside Michonne against the sturdy trunk of an aged oak, his dad a sentinel keeping vigil, dark glittering eyes watchful and posture as alert as a wolf on the prowl, he does not dream of big clammy hands pinning him down forcefully, nor of the shattering weight accompanied by cold fear so absolute it sunk to the very marrow of his bones.
Instead, he dreams of his dad’s savage drawl, of guts spilling on dusty pebbly trails, of his dad’s lips against his forehead, the lingering feeling of the comforting kiss warming him with the heat of this unwavering impenetrable knowing: I’m his.
Or, an archive of snapshots and vignettes from Rick and Carl’s developing relationship.
