Griff lifts his hand, eyes trying to focus anywhere but Lars’ body, settling for the swirl of water running off them both into the drain. He intended to keep his promise—but two small trickles of red catch his eye—originating from newly born scrapes on the young soldier’s knees.
The captain sighs and gives in, eyes trailing upward to look at Lars’ face, "At least rinse them off before you—"
But before he can finish the order, his mind goes blank.
Wait. What?
Lars’ eyes are impossibly wide.
He was going to apologize for looking, and hopefully reassure Lars he had nothing to be ashamed of in the process, but his brain stops and takes a moment to catch up with what he saw.
Or, for lack of better words, what he didn’t see.

Summary
It was no secret that the Weasley family was poor, it was quite obvious in fact. Of course, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley did the best they could to shield their children from the cruelty of the world, but the revelation of that cruelty was inevitable. All of the seven children wore hand-me-down robes, even the ones who had graduated. All seven looked guilty anytime anyone tried to spend money on them or buy them a gift.
Oliver wasn’t judging of course, he’d never judge no anyone for things they couldn’t control, he merely observed. He watched with interest the difference in habits of the eldest three brothers and the youngest four siblings. He watched the way Percy cared for the younger Weasleys. Oliver was simply observing, as a concerned friend, and nothing more.
