The Autobots kept telling him that Starscream was an irredeemable monster. That whoever the mech Skyfire had gotten to know during his days in the Academy was, he wasn't the Starscream that acted as the Decepticon Air Commander and Second in Command.
Skyfire knew that.
War changes people, after all.
But Skyfire had one last hope, that perhaps the Starscream he'd known, the dreamer, the scientist, was still there, just brutally beaten down by war and by serving under Megatron. Perhaps he really wasn't the same mech that Skyfire remembered, the same one he'd been hoping to see Vos with after their expedition.
But he had to try at least once, right?
