The demon frowned, and then shrugged.

Another flash, putrid sulfur filling the air. Harrow coughed. The flames shrunk and then vanished, and she was left in the dark yet again. This time she could see the pale light of the moon fill the chapel. Harrow exhaled deeply, hands trembling.
“I’ll be here when you’re ready,” a voice whispered all around her. And then silence.
Harrow hurried her way to her room, not daring to look back.
