When cherished words are weaponized and can no longer be trusted, and new scars are layered atop old, it serves as a reminder that broken hearts can mend; and old wounds will heal, in time. As the pair work towards finding the assailant, they must learn to trust one another and rebuild the foundation of what they are and what they want to be.
Will the looming shadow that threatens to consume them in the darkness prevail, or will the fury of a broken beast set them free from the chains that keeps them apart?

Zhongli’s lips press into a firm line. “Anything else I am able to offer, aside from fighting you, I will consider.”
It’s an interesting answer. And while Childe mulls it over, his gaze begins to wander: it shifts across Zhongli’s features, as pretty and alluring as they are. Those eyes in all their chiseled gold, the sharp, cutting angles of his jaw… into the swooping curve of Zhongli’s neck, where the rest of it disappears under the collar. Something about it draws a restlessness from Childe, the tips of his fingers starting to buzz with a familiar itch.
It gives him an idea.
A bad one, of course, but an idea nonetheless.
As the First Harbinger, Childe is a dangerous, unpredictable force who lives for the sole pursuit of pleasure. Contracts have always been Zhongli’s method of control, but he may soon find that Childe cannot be so easily contained.
