Summary
Despite how honest Grian tended to be, he was surprisingly cagey with his own personal matters. Only his servermates knew the state of him when he was first discovered, but even they didn’t know the why or the how. The Hermits accepted this under the pretense of privacy. The avian shrugged it off as unnecessary detail, something better off unknown.
So even as he invited an old friend – once thought to be dead – Grian had yet to come clean. To reveal himself to the one who deserved to know the most. Surely he could hide the truth for a little longer? Just until they settled into the new season. When he could finally find the words to explain it all.

This was a fight from the start: Scar announced halfway into their trip— that’s a figurative halfway, not a literal one, as traditional distances sort of break down when you’ve spent long enough in the void— that spaceships do need gas, and this one was in fact in dire need of more gas immediately.
