Summary
In an alternate Piltover and Zaun, the city’s elite and its underground operate in a fragile truce—until a single choice shatters it. Caitlyn Kiramman, heir to Piltover’s most powerful family, is caught between loyalty to her mother’s political ambitions and a secret life as an enforcer on the streets. Violet “Vi” Warwick, a former street brawler turned underground fixer, lives by her own rules, hardened by betrayal and years in prison for a crime she didn’t commit.
When a string of politically motivated killings shakes both cities, Caitlyn is assigned to work with Vi—unaware they share a bloody past neither has truly recovered from. Old wounds resurface, attraction burns through the cracks, and loyalties are tested. As they hunt a phantom killer, every truth they uncover forces them closer to each other—and closer to the moment where one of them must choose: protect the city, or protect the other.

Vi chuckled. “Ten bucks says something definitely eats somebody.”
“Stop it,” Caitlyn hissed, elbowing her.
They were ushered into shiny jeeps that looked way too vulnerable to withstand anything over two tons. Each family member climbed in—Vander driving one with Mylo and Claggor in the back, Caitlyn and Cassandra in another, and Vi and Powder paired together in a buggy that looked like it was built for speed.
Of course, Vi revved the engine the moment the guide’s back was turned.
“Let’s see what this baby can do.”
“Vi—!” Powder shrieked as they tore down the jungle path, kicking up dust behind them.

She turned to dive again, but paused.
