These things didn’t belong to him—he would’ve never been caught smoking—but were the staple pieces that made up Jeon Jeongguk. He was the object of Taehyung's fantasies, someone Taehyung had hung around with mutual friends under the bleachers at football games, or smoke-filled rooms at house parties, and knew enough about to understand he had to stay away from if he wanted to get out of town and go to college. Jungkook should have known from then, when Taehyung did not even let him defend himself, that Taehyung lost all the love he had for him.
That Taehyung did not feel any possessiveness to go for the other supposed omega, to ask questions, to fight against everything for Jungkook, to believe Jungkook, no he simply let go.
Despite being stubborn for wanting Jungkook all his life.
Taehyung let go of him.
It would have hurt less if he had just accepted that Taehyung's happiness just did not lie with him anymore.
