Which is unfortunate, because a freak radio storm has paused travel over Nevada airspace. Stuck in Sin City Parker, Chance, and Wren could sit in the airport and wait for the all-clear on air traffic... but there are so many dang games in those casinos... and they're stuck here for at LEAST 24 hours so... what the hell, right?

He bit his bottom lip in thought. His favorite memories blinking in the ink of the tally marks. The Halloween party. The night in the attic. Her in that stupid sexy lacy and velvet dress she had worn on New Year's junior year of college. How the skirt of that dress rode up as he pressed frantically into her hip.

He was afraid she’d never ask. He takes his saddlebag and fishes out his personal bottle of Buffout. “Do more drugs.”
She’s pouting again. “Maybe you should just go on ahead without me. I’ll find a safe spot where I can curl up and be sickly for a few days, and then I’ll catch up with you in Vegas. How does that sound?”
It sounds fucking stupid. “Every radroach in the area will smell yer bile and eat you alive while you’re disoriented.”
Her brow furrows. “Well, you certainly paint quite the picture.”
“I’m tellin’ ya, Sweetheart, the drugs are the only way to go. At least for now. Worry ‘bout gettin’ clean after we find yer daddy.”

AKA, after leaving the ncr camp, cooper and lucy get attacked by raiders and while they have the advantage, they drag lucy away leaving cooper with no choice but to go on another hunt for her...he finds her in an unexpected manner and gets her to safety and doesn't anticipate the way she wants to return the favour

Lucy chuckles sheepishly. Presses her lips together before hiding her face in the crook of his neck. “I was afraid I’d never see you again.”
He overcomes his hesitation. Dares to wrap his arms around her, hugging her tight. “Yeah. I was ‘fraid o’ the same thing."
She looks up at him again, hopeful. “Really?”
Cooper swallows hard. “Really.”

AKA, lucy returns inside the vault and comes across cooper as he's trying to leave and they hash it out right there...in a way he knows he shouldn't let happen but he also knows he can't resist her much longer...especially when she looks at him the way she does

“What exactly is the game here, Sweetheart?” Cooper asks when the kiss breaks again, his tone low. Gruff. Thick with the desire he’s been ignoring for so long. It’s not fair how easily she brings it to the surface.
“It feels like we’ve already been playing a game this whole time.” Her nose brushes against the cavity where his used to be. “I like to think this is how we can both win.”
“I ain’t a prize.”
Lucy grins at him because she understands. Because she knows him well enough by now to know it’s a joke. A tease. “Well, I apologise for objectifying you.”

AKA, lucy causes a scene at a bar and it pisses cooper off, but when he tries to put her in her place she has other ideas in mind and decides to take a chance on so-called game...except it's not a game to cooper and neither of them are prepared to call the other's bluff
