Summary
Two strangers drowning under the weight of unrequited longing for people they could never have share a single night together under the masks of anonymity the Ministry's annual 'Masquerade for Mer-Rights' ball provides.
Except this is fiction, where the love is never unrequited, and maybe the real strangers we shag in bathrooms are the godfathers of friends we made along the way.

Summary
Harry Potter died a hero. Five years later, Hermione Granger is still trying to survive it.
When a mysterious ring bearing the Potter crest begins to scream inside the Department of Mysteries, Hermione is summoned as its heir. But the sound isn’t just noise to her; it’s calling to her, singing of love and grief, of something lost and something waiting.
She doesn’t know why it knows her name.
She only knows she’s going to follow where it leads.
Written for the Angst prompt of the Harmony Out of the Ordinary fest and following the path of Matthew Perryman Jones' song, Lovers in Another Life.

Summary
“Potter…why is a horcrux of the Dark Lord sitting in your living room in muggle Surrey?” Severus Snape slowly and calmly asked as if he was holding onto his last thread of sanity while waiting for the answer.
“Well, we met back in my second year at school, became friends since I didn’t know who his future self was, he tried to kill me, I killed him, and then he floated around the aether for a couple years,” Harry sighed. It was all so very complex.

Everyone has had a summer from hell after what happened with the Triwizard Tournament. Literally everyone, even the part of Voldemort's soul that he thought he'd gotten rid of so very long ago. When Harry Potter's worst enemy asks for his help though...well, that pesky saving people thing just really gets in the way.

Summary
‘I want to open it,’ Hermione thought nearly opening the book before stopping herself. “You cheeky book.” She tapped its cover. “Compulsion? Really?” Rolling her eyes at how stupid whatever magic the book had upon it was, she put it away in her school things and began sorting through ways of blocking magic. The new project had her eager and before long, she’d forgotten her boredom. Whatever the book was, it wasn’t common and it could influence the minds of those nearby.
‘I’ll get to the bottom of you.’ Hermione thought giving the book a grin.

Tom didn’t know what this future world held in store for him. There were far too many unknowns and the girl herself, while not a threat directly, could certainly hand him over to someone who was. Excitement flowed through the soul fragment at the idea of a new high stakes game. The player was a child, but a genius, perhaps even one on his level.
‘This is either going to be my greatest triumph or most humiliating defeat.’ Tom thought, alone but not forgotten as the brilliant mind of his opponent whirled under her curly brown hair.
