“Lemme guess, you wanna know if there’s any ‘mysterious backstory’ behind it?” Luz eagerly nodded, and Amity let out a giggle as Luz’s head rocked back and forth on her legs. “First, stop moving, you’re tickling me!”
Luz relaxed, while also showing off a cheeky grin that Amity couldn’t help but feel fond of. “Alright, get comfortable, it’s a bit of a story. It was about four years ago…”

“What’s the issue?! I just ruined everything! Now she’s gonna stay away and- and not want to be my- my friend and I just-” Amity felt her rambling and hyperventilating get cut off by the warm comfort of her siblings’ arms around her. It was strange, but nice, and she let herself relax into it.
“Hey, it’s okay, deep breaths, we’re here for you,” Emira murmured into her ear, and Amity felt a bit more of the tension slip away as she started to breathe again.
