Athur dies and then wakes up way back in season 1 with a Merlin who barely knows him, a Morgana who hasn't turned evil yet, and a lot of questions. Is this a dream? Some kind of purgatory? Or something else entirely - a chance to do things right this time around? Can he change destiny? And more importantly, how long does he have to wait while Merlin slowly warms up to him before he can tell him he knows about his magic without the idiot panicking and running off or something equally stupid? Arthur's finally figured out what Merlin means to him, now he just has to wait for Merlin to catch up.

Maybe, just maybe, he’s being dramatic.
Will can look at people. That’s okay. It’s fine. It’s as he said before: Will is not his. Will can handle himself. It’s fine. Sure, Mike is worried, but he trusts Will. Will wouldn’t do anything stupid. Mike can ignore that worry, the worry that is simmering under his skin and threatening to bubble over, and it’ll be fine.
Mike nods to himself, satisfied at his conclusion, and decides to give Will one last glance before going back to the kitchen.
And that’s when he sees it.

Will can’t breathe. “But–”
“I’m not Tammy Thompson.” Mike’s eyes blaze. “I’m goddamn Mike Wheeler, and I’ve been in love with you since you set my hair on fire in science class when we were ten.” His jaw clenches, and Will feels like someone let off a grenade next to his head. “I realised I was in love with you when you left me for Lenora, and realised you loved me when you made up that bullshit about El asking you to make me the painting.”
Will feels the blood leave his face, feels his entire world shifting in an instant. “Mike–”
“And then you stand there and tell everyone it’s this crush that amounts to the same as some girl who didn’t like Robin back?” Mike’s voice cracks. “I– how am I that to you?”

The first time it happened, he’d been twelve and still working for Gravedigger Sykes. That time, it had been triggered by death-glows at a cluster haunting that had killed almost ten people before an agency had been called in to get it sorted.
Sykes had only grunted, dosed him with children’s paracetamol, and tossed him his first pair of sunglasses. They were scratched and comically large on his pre-teenaged face, but did the job and prevented another attack for over a year.
Or, missing scenes throughout canon as Lockwood struggles with chronic migraines. Also as he falls in love with Lucy Carlyle (to use a possibly overused turn of phrase) slowly, and then all at once.
