Summary
The warrior whistled out into the forest, letting her know he was awake. A distinct whistle returned to him; his smile curved around the rim of his tea cup. He tended to the fish and rifled through their traveling supplies to find the vegetables they’d foraged along their path. The man procured a knife and began peeling tubers, carefully processing them into something akin to soft cakes that he grilled in a pan on a hot, flat rock in the fire pit. The smell would surely draw her back to camp, arms laden with more things than when she left. Last time it had been delicious mushrooms, the time before that it had been a chunk of honeycomb dripping fresh sugar down her hands.
Jinka choked on his mouthful of tea; walking back up from the direction of the creek was a completely naked Tama, hips swaying invitingly with each approaching step toward him. A knowing look was pasted on her face showing she was fully cognizant of what she was doing; last night had been real, then.

Summary
Obi knew that a blizzard would do next to nothing to stop the drunk idiots of the tavern in his village. He’d moved to a portion of the forest close to the edge of the town, knowing few would want to wander too near the haunted river flowing around his property. It was one of the few things that the population could be counted on to pay attention to – most children were taught that the woman living in the water would steal them if they wandered during the treacherous spring months, or throw them down the mountainside where the waters plunged hundreds of feet to the lake below.
Winter months were a bit fickle, thawing rainstorms and snap freezes fighting back and forth until one or the other ultimately won out for a few weeks. It wasn’t impossible to find a lost soul deep in snowbanks as it thawed and released them from the icy grasp.
“Help!” A whisper of a scream buffeted his cabin’s wall from upwind. Obi was bundled down for the night, his insulated underthings the only part of his outfit left on for the night. She had been begging for an hour now, the same voice that had followed him for months since he’d built his home. He took a longer pull from his whiskey and swirled it around as he considered.

“There is more to a relationship than sex, Roathe.”
Now it is his turn to splutter, in disbelief. “Relationship? You mean to tell me that we were involved? Absurd. I might have believed time travel, or that you popped through reality like a bubble, but a relationship? Unthinkable.”
She stares at him knowingly. “When two people interact over time, it is called a relationship.”
He frowns, but feels the corners of his lips pulling up against his will. “Well, aren’t we irritating?”
