Andrea did turn out to be a hard working- although startling naive and horribly chipper. She talked constantly, asking questions and interjecting her own thoughts until Miranda finally snapped, “Shop girls are supposed to be seen and not heard.”
Cheeks pinking, Andrea bit her lip and said, “Yes Mistress Priestly.”
“Just call me Miranda.”
“Yes Miranda,” Andrea said, and that little smile was back. No longer looking like a drown cat, she was quite fetching, even Miranda had to admit it.
