Summary
He should have known when they got out of the car their first time at the coast and Lambda raced down the sand to the water so fast that Gordon tripped straight out of his sandals trying to keep up with her. When he stood barefoot on the wet sand, watching her shift from a bounding fox into a gull, then a sleek sea lion, then a sturgeon as she leapt from wave to wave – he should have known then that she would never be happy out of the water again.

Summary
Spring 1st. Gordon thought it was the perfect day to finish moving into their new lab. The weather was beautiful and the other scientists were on their best behavior for once. The old Joja Mart had been beautifully renovated into a brand new, shiny lab for them to conduct their experiments in and he couldn't wait to get started, but everything wouldn't be ready until the following day.

Summary
Benrey has always been enigmatic to Gordon, from his ludicrous powers to his generally nonsensical motivations. But more confusing that any of that is what the fuck Benrey wants from him.
Against his better judgement, he decides to figure it out.
“I mean, what the fuck is up with him?” Gordon said. “One minute he’s— He, he tries to kiss me, and the next he’s chasing me with a fucking knife! I mean, he’s just gotta be crazy, right?”
“It, uh, doesn’t sound crazy to me, Mr. Freeman,” Tommy said.
“…What the fuck?”
(or: through his own convoluted thought process, gordon ropes himself into hate-dating benrey. it’ll probably be fine. and he definitely won’t have to deal with any underlying feelings that will surface.)

Benrey can feel Gordon’s old shit staring at him, its oppressive gaze telling Benrey ‘you have to unpack this shit sooner or later’ which, ironically, is a great metaphor for all the emotional shit he needs to unpack as well. He should ask an English professor to analyze his life or something.
If Benrey had his way, he’d keep all of Gordon’s stuff in the back of his closet and forget about it. It’s not like he desperately needs cash or anything. Not that he could emotionally handle selling any of Gordon’s things, but, you know, if something happened, and he really needed the money, for Josh’s sake, Gordon’s stuff would be right up on Craigslist.
