Or: HUNTR/X works towards sealing the Honmoon and falls in love along the way. Pre-reveal Rumi, hiding both her patterns and her wants, loves her girls in whatever way she can until she's free (whether that means shielding Mira and Zoey in fights or pretending to be something she's not). She just has to hold out until the Honmoon’s golden. Straightforward enough, right?

He’s not ready for a new relationship, or so he thinks, but then he meets Jayce, who helps out in Silco and Vander’s bar, jokes with Viktor’s siblings, and looks very good carrying Christmas trees. Honestly, those arms are a lonely man’s dream…
or: Viktor’s shitty (now) ex ditches him because he “doesn’t do family” and Viktor gets the strong, cute and nerdy man living next to his parents’ house instead. Also, it’s Christmas, and the title is a lie, there’s totally going to be some mistletoe.

Summary
Viktor owes his old friends Vander and Silco a lot. But taking on the care of the badly abused young omega that Vander won in a card game is a hell of a lot to ask. They might owe Viktor, for this.
Still, Viktor isn't the kind of alpha who can turn away anyone in need, and Jayce is very much in need, so Viktor resigns himself to hosting a long-term guest and enduring his own personal hell in the form of a stunningly beautiful, sweetly-scented omega that he would have to be some kind of monster to even think about touching.
Even as Jayce begins to heal with the help of Viktor and his friends in the community, Viktor knows that the omega is destined for better things than an old, lame alpha with no real status to speak of.
Jayce—eventually—thinks otherwise.
