“You should get out of here, before it's too late. I don’t even know your name...” Caitlyn asked, turning her head so the girl could hear her. “How old are you?”
The girl stopped for a few seconds and looked around the chair to face her, as if she was trying to decide something. The girl’s lips tightened, and Caitlyn had a sudden realization that hit her like a collapsing wall. She had seen this face before, at the platform where they fought the firelights and the bridge on an older woman.
“Jinx??”
“My name is Powder, I’m thirteen years old and I’m here to rescue you...” the girl said. “That... Thing... Isn't a Jinx, not really... My Jinx is going to try to get to Vi before it does.” and returned to her task.
Powder popped back around the chair. “Oh, and you can call me Gremlin!"
