Summary
“I sent something in your direction earlier ? Knocked a bunch of marines, I thought I was being helpful.” he mutters, visibly distraught. Sanji blinks, equally confused, his mind suddenly remembering the awful gust of wind that had caused him to topple down the stairs and, well, you know, stab his hand and have a panic attack because of it.
“That was you ?”
“Yeah.”
“Oh.”
---
In which Zoro messes up and Sanji takes the fall for him as gracefully as possible. Ensue a bunch of very awkward conversations neither of them want to have, forcing them to reconsider their whole rivalry, and even worse, their relationship.

Summary
Perona used to tell him ghost stories about its previous occupants. Stillbirths and young boys who didn’t come back from the war — spectres for a young Zoro to face sword in hand. She told Zoro not to leave his bedroom on a full moon, to keep his curtains closed once the sun hazed down. She said there were noises at night, that if you lay sweet and still in bed, you heard the thumpings. You heard the wailings.
The Vinsmokes had always lived next door.

Summary
This is the routine they've built up. A night a week, at least, where something tumbles Sanji from his hammock. Nightmares or something else, some drive to squat in front of the oven when the moon is high, face pink with its heat, frowning in concentration at whatever snack Usopp had mentioned offhand that day. The biscuits he’s sure will win Nami over, the tomatoes he needs to double check are in date, the recipe for Chopper he needs to re-tweak. Kneading bread in the dark to offer up to their crew once dawn comes like a supplication. Measuring out thick golden olive oil in case he should wake up, suddenly, to a morning where they have none.

Summary
He’s never tried to count his mistakes.
Years of petty theft, blind alley muggings, finally graduating to a brick through someone’s back door. The people he leaves bleeding in alleyways, the engagement rings he pawns. The dish cloth he left next to the stove when he was eleven; the smoke he slept through.
His biggest mistake is what he did to that boy.

Modern AU. Zeff has never wanted a child. The child, unfortunately, wants him.
