“How did you infiltrate my domain?”
The demon finally spoke with a voice that would have surely shaken Yuji's core if he wasn’t already so annoyed by the snow that came without warning. The weatherman on the news never mentioned the slightest chance of snowfall. It was already bad enough he’d been wandering the woods on his own, but to become lost while the sky dusted the ground in a blanket of white had only made him wish he would have just stayed home.
And now he was in the presence of a demon. A very pissed-off demon, who looked none too pleased with the person before him.
“I, uh…” A bead of sweat rolled down Yuji’s neck. Domain? Did the demon mean the estate? “Walked, well stumbled, actually, and found… it?”

“Go.” She said, not quite yelling but suddenly intense as she herded Harry back, away from the pillar and towards the tracks. “Go now, boy, or you’ll miss your train!”
He looked behind his shoulder, there was a train....he hadn’t heard it approach. The doors were open and waiting, and for no good reason at all, he stepped inside. The strange little woman didn’t follow him on, she simply stood there watching him. that same incomprehensible smile on her face.
“Which path will you choose?” She asked again, just before the doors closed, replacing his view of her with his own, pale reflection.

Summary
My head canon rewrite of An Offer From a Gentleman by Julia Quinn, melding the best parts of the book and Bridgerton tv show. This is not an attempt to predict/write Benedict's love story on the show, just an exercise in tweaking things I didn't like in the book. This is a Benedict and Sophie love story where Sophie has more agency, Benedict has more kindness, there are a lot more steamy encounters, and many more characters play a role in their coming together.
Posted as a multichapter fanfic, but it's not a fully written story start-to-finish. There are scenes and lines from the book that I want to preserve and expository bits that wouldn't be worth a rewrite, so those will be noted within the body of the chapters.
