Summary
An AU where Stanley never broke Ford's experiment and they spent the last summer after high school graduation trying to find anomalies together in the Appalachian mountains. Ford comes across and makes a deal with an ancient deity while Stanley mulls over his future and his brother’s blasé attitude toward him. Their ventures are bittersweet.
Accidentally dialogue-heavy and Chapter 1 is largely Stan and Ford interacting, Bill is not really a triangle here he's more so an ancient power that has found himself cursed to be stuck among the mountains until he's able to strike up a deal with a particular author.

Why had Frills dropped him here? In Gravity Falls, sure. But why not in town or better yet, at his statue. Why the Mystery Shack of all places? Did the Axolotl expect him to approach them? Bill laughed aloud at the thought. Ax actually thought that Bill was going to go asking for help from them? His worst enemies? The ones responsible for his downfall? His DEATH? Yeah, no. Bill Cipher does not grovel. He also doesn’t know the first thing about being human, sure. But he can figure it out. All by himself. Without any magic. (Oh boy. But still.)
Bill turned his back on the Mystery Shack and walked away.

Summary
After his dream plan turned out a bit harder than expected, Ford's life ended up less glamorous than he hoped. He found he didn't mind so much. He had his best friend and twin still. Had a roof over his head, even if he had to go a bit nose blind to the scent of Pigs and all that came with them first.
He even has a steady career teaching high school biology. Life was great.
The only downside? His coworker and constant needle in his side, Mr.Cipher, the drama teacher. Emphasis on the Drama.Bill wishes things stayed that simple.

If you had ask Bill three trillion and three years ago, what was the place where he felt fully happy, he might have responded a name of some random bar in some random dimension.
If you ask Bill now, what was the place where he felt fullly happy, he would tell you about a shack in the middle of the forest, hidden in the middle of nowhere in Oregon, surrounded with a bunch of stubborn people he should hate (people that had every right to hate him), people that, despite all the odds, had given him something he hadn't have in a long time, a home, an actual full of life home. No matter how much his treacherous selfish heart wants more, he's content, he's back into Ford's life, he lives in a dimension that's not actively collapsing on itself, has a warm bed and a cozy home to come back to every day. He's very much happy to resing himself to this life.
That is, of course, until a version of the man he spent trillions of years pinning for appears out of nowhere, and somehow, nothing and everything has change
Or, Season Two Ford gets accidently yeeted to a future where he's roomates with his worst enemy and is going to make it everyone else's problem.
